My Favorite Ring Shot Ever

Ok, everyone has their own tastes, so I totally give it to them for having a unique wedding. But this did make me giggle.

I Have Been Tagged!

I am usually behind on the times and don't realize I have been tagged BUT this time I actually read my comments - so I have been tagged With This Ring, I Thee Obsess.

RULES:
1) you link back to the person who tagged you.
2) post these rules on your blog.
3) share six unimportant things about yourself.
4) tag six random people at the end of your entry.
5) let the tagged people know by leaving a comment on their blogs.

1) I absolutely hate washing dishes. But I hate looking at them in the sink even more (Thank goodness my fiance doesn't seem to mind washing them...or he has just realized that I will never do them myself).

2) I lived in Austin, Texas for over a year and never went to a live concert until after I moved from there. Sad, but I was a poor intern.

3) I have a loud laugh. I was so loud that earlier this morning, I was caught laughing outloud by a co-worker when I saw that Tara was a Candy Stripper (Now we know how she is paying for the wedding, haha) in her tag post.

4) My cat loves to steal my Carmex out of my purse. He actually can open my purse - I swear. So the thought of putting him on David Lettermen's Stupid Pet Tricks segment has crossed my mind several times.

5) I was an arts reporter for my college newspaper and probably my biggest thrill was interviewing the band - They Might Be Giants.

6) ok, ok I confess. I watched Rock of Love II religiously this past season. So this past weekend when I was watching Georgia Rule, I realized that Destiney was actually an extra in the movie (and when I pointed this out to my fiance, I was mocked).

Again, I am late in the game, so I am tagging anyone who wants to play!

Smart Bride TV

Last week, I got the opportunity of meeting several of the Chicago bloggers and we did a sit-down interview with Smart Bride TV. Here is the clip. Thank you Ray, Wendy, Kelly, Misse and Amy (Tara - I was so mad you had to leave early but so fun meeting you). I had the best time just chitchatting with everyone! I believe there will be more segments, but this was the first one. Enjoy!

In a Funk...

(via Jaime's site)
Ok....several things - I am tired of wedding planning. There I said it. It might be the snow, the cold weather or something, but I have hit a wall with making decisions. I hope I get my wedding love back...and soon.

Something that might get me out of this funk - this website. Thank you to Jaime for this wonderful website. She created it for her sister's upcoming wedding and seriously - these are my colors. I have gotten so much inspiration from this site! Thank you!

I'm it!

Oops - I hadn't checked my comments until now and realized - I have been tagged by several folks out there - Elizabeth, Darci and my new favorite Chicagoan- Tara! So here it goes...

The rules of tagging are as follows:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 random and or weird things about yourself.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. Even after taking years of ballet, I am unfortunately very clumsy and have a tendency to trip very easily. On a business trip to Australia, I tripped and smacked my face (cheek area) so badly that it bruised. So every photo of me from that trip - I look like someone out of a bad Lifetime movie.

2. I can eat regular tomatoes but hate cherry tomatoes.

3. When I was five-years-old in my church choir, I became so nervous that I lifted up the front of my dress and hid behind it as we sang, exposing my undies to the whole church. Unfortunately, my pastor who witnessed this many years ago, will be our officant for our ceremony. I know he will be telling this story at our reception...

4. I am addicted to Weight Watchers English Toffee Crunch Ice Cream Bars...actually I am eating one right now! They are only two points and oh so good.

5. I met my fiance on New Years Eve and I was attracted to him but nothing happened until a month later. Only because he kissed me, my roommate, one of my other friends and another friend of a friend all on NYE. He blames alcohol and mistle toe for his "player" ways that night.

6. I always fall in love with an actor and begin watching all their movies on netflix. Right now it is Clive Owen. Last month it was Luke Wilson.

7. I work in sports marketing and my fiance would actually confess that I know more about sports than he does.

Sorry- that was all I could think of off the top of my head!

So now I am tagging - Pearls Events, I heart Peonies...crap I think everyone on my blogroll has been tagged! Does this mean I am cursed?

Helpful Hint

Another reason why I love reading other blogs. We found bridesmaids dresses that I could live with...and I was contemplating getting them from a certain bridal shop because you can save a ton money. Then I read this on Tie the Knot. Yikes...

The Blog World

I had a very strange conversation with my mother today. She was talking about this new blogging craze because I have a cousin who blogs about her kids on her website. My mother said she just felt it was another way for people to selfishly promote themselves. I told her I didn't necessarily agree, but kept my mouth shut over this site. Why - I don't know.

I have to say that I find myself at first just writing this stuff to keep me sane. And it started out a couple days a week or just on the weekend. Now I feel naked if I have not gone to a blog or posted something here. I could care less who visits this, but then I do fret that a friend is going to come across this and ask if this is me...which is just weird. Who cares - if I am putting it all out there. But anyways...

My new favorite blogger.

New Design

Ok...I changed it up a bit. For some reason, I was staying in this old school blogger mode and whenever it asked me to upgrade - I freaked and wouldn't upgrade my template. Now this sucker is the easiest thing to maintain. What was I thinking? I decided to go green. Not my colors, but it is very gloomy here in Chicago so I decided to think spring due to the fact that is when our wedding is.

UPDATE: I already changed the template...I went to a good friend's blog and noticed she had the same layout. Oops. I wondered why I liked it so much, just didn't realize I had seen it before.

Wedding Podcasts

So the blogs have been great, but how about this? The Wedding Podcast Network offers free interviews with wedding magazine editors and other bridal insiders. But what is great is that one of my favorite wedding planners Samantha from Whose Wedding is it Anyways does a podcast as well. Check it out http://www.weddingpodcastnetwork.com/

Blog Away

It was a gorgeous day here in Chi-town. I went for a run and then ended up spending the day searching the web....and now I have a headache. But I have become addicted searching blogs right now. I have gotten so many cool ideas from them and I just love that they are in the same boat - planning a wedding and talking about it!

Another awesome website

I am going to feature another great blog that I love getting ideas - From I will to I do.

I was so thrilled to see this recent entry, because I am contemplating doing this, because we have a Sunday wedding and the place where we are holding it will also have Saturday weddings going on...

A Rehersal Luncheon
I don't know why the bride and groom planned it this way, but I like the idea. While it's true that the bride (and groom) have a lot to do the day before the wedding, scheduling a lunch time or afternoon rehearsal and meal will force the couple to check off every to-do early and give them a quiet evening to relax, and enough time to get a goodnight sleep before the big day. Also, a luncheon will be less expensive than a formal dinner.
