Etsy Find of the Week

I absolutely love finding beautiful pieces on Etsy and I especially love Gemini Studio Art Chicago. I ended up buying this very unique piece from them back in March. It was suppose to be a gift for a friend, but ended up looking so gorgeous on our bookshelf that I kept it. Each piece is handmade with layered strips of antique paper and newsprint, so it has a very vintage look to it.

Just recently, I noticed they have made our piece even bigger and I love it even more! Wouldn't this be perfect as a groom's gift? Or housewarming gift?

I have also noticed that the artist has branched out and doing other cities like San Francisco and famous golf courses.

Etsy Buy of the Week

One of my favorite buys on etsy was my charm from Hazelnutcottage. I just wanted something really simple for my bouquet and I loved this look when I came across it. Jan was wonderful to work with and I have to say it came out looking beautiful. Now I am thinking of incorporating into a charm for a bracelet, so I definitely can use it over again!

Esty Buy of the Week

I can't remember exactly when I came across Etsy, but I know that it definitely has become my new best friend. I told my friend the other day it is like all the cool Chicago Outdoor Markets we have here during the summer, where you get to find a cool new piece of jewerly made by hand. (My favorite is Market Days on Halsted usually the first week of August).

Yesterday I decided to look at my purchase page when I noticed how much I had spent in the last couple months! Yikes. But I love all my goodies!

I ended up buying cufflinks for my brother-in-law from Anne Holman. It was perfect, because he loves cufflinks and loves vintage maps. Well, I cannot say enough about her. I made my purchase and left a comment that I would love to have where my brother-in-law and sister got married - A very small town in Scotland. I think it was two days later, I had them! Unbelievable service!

So the polaroid guestbook...to be honest, I felt like it has been done before and not really exciting, but every time I brought it up to family and friends, they seemed really into it (I forget that they are not keeping up on all the wedding blogs like us). So after searching endlessly for something unique, I buckled and bought a camera and film on Ebay. Please make note - this is not a cheap venture. Especially now that they are not making polaroids anymore. I got the camera for under 25 bucks, but the film is expensive.

Adesso Albums sells a guestbook that is specific to polaroids (but I was not loving their album), so I went to Michael's and Hobby Lobby and did not find anything either. I ended up searching on Etsy and found Paperlust. I did not want to spend more money than I had to, but I loved (or lusted - get it!?) for her guestbooks. They look so vintage with the kraft paper and she works with you to customize the book. So after debating for a week, I made my purchase yesterday and Amanda has been wonderful. I cannot wait to see the finished project! (I will make sure to post it once I get it)!

Really, it is not one of my finds. I saw this post on Wedding Bee and fell in love with this charm. I got nervous when I noticed that it would be backordered for a couple of weeks, so I fretted and then purchased.

Yeah, screw it. Because it is becoming part of my obsession, might as well make "Etsy find" a weekly feature. Today I am going to tell you about these awesome purses from muchacha K. I was actually thinking about doing custom clutches for my bridesmaids and here at muchacha found unbelievable great ones! For only $27, she will make you a custom clutch bag just like theses. I jumped right on it and am having her make one for me. Um, yeah, sorry, bridesmaids - I might just be doing your jewerly for now! However, she also does jewerly rolls and little pouches - that I might use instead. She has a great blog too- please check it out.
