Iconic Brides

My wedding dress is very 1960s and I have been getting a lot ideas from that decade. Something I came across from on Bridalwave.com - the iconic brides list. I wonder if there is a book of iconic brides, because I would buy it in a heartbeat...

Pics and More

After about a month of phone calls back and forth. I have officially signed on with my photographer. YEAH! I spent more than I wanted but so happy with their work and they have been wonderfully nice! So this weekend, my sister is coming in and hopefully we will find the bridesmaids dresses. THEN - it will be really only just invitations and figuring out flower arrangements. I am enjoying this. Maybe because I think my wedding is going to be fun. I have not stressed too much just yet, except over the budget. What was I thinking? I know I could have a cheaper wedding, but I always love the higher end stuff. That is what kills you...

Oops...

So I think I totally got wrong information. I was told after hours of searching for my dress back in July, that my dress designer was the same one of the Nixon daughters. But then check out this - Tricia Nixon's dress was designed by the Priscilla of Boston. Huh, what? I was told specifically my by girl at the dress shop that he designed it! I think I was fooled, but I might need to do a little more research on this...

UPDATE! I found this on a site - Luci Baines Johnson, the daughter of President Lyndon B. Johnson, and Julie and Tricia Nixon, the daughters of President Richard M. Nixon, wore Priscilla dresses for their weddings.

Brooklyn, baby!

I hate saying it but as you become more and more engrossed in wedding planning, you start checking out every other site. One of my favorites - http://www.bklynbride.blogspot.com/. This is what I would do for all Chicago brides - if I actually had time. So I have been on this site every day and came across this - our photographer and she was raving about how great they were. This was from his own wedding. I am in love! http://bklynbride.blogspot.com/2007/09/sota-dzine-jeremy-hayley_04.html.

We still need to sign the contract - but I think this just got me to do it!

What about the dog?

So my soon-to-be husband has a prized pet - his golden retriever. We actually bought her together when we were first dating. Of course, she is the best dog ever. She wasn't always this way - I believe golden retrievers go through terrible twos...just like humans! Recently, he asked if the dog was going to be part of the ceremony. I laughed, but then came across this photo today. What a cute pug!

Hmmm...

I have been doing more invitations shopping and noticed this cool idea - the postcard RSVP. How fantastic is that? I really liked it, plus you save on postage. I have also contemplated doing the internet RSVP...I just don't know if my guests are that computer savy.

Invites, Invites, Invites

So I have been browsing the websites all morning and really have started looking at invitations...I would love to get these out of the way in the next month. I came across this website in my Bridal Bargains book and I have to say it is the best out there - You're the Bride.

I loved these invitations, but they might be a little to informal for my affair - but I loved the colors - the pinks and oranges...but definitely some good deals. I could get 100 of these gems all for 260 bucks (plus 10 percent off that!).
