I have a friend who is getting married. He is a guy. So much a guy that he told me that they are getting married in downtown Chicago but not wanting to spend more than 7,000 dollars. I said - on the whole chibang? And he was like of course! Yeah, very naive. I laughed, but then realized that they were going to have to see for themselves to actually believe that they could do a whole wedding for that amount in Chicago.
He recently asked me if I could do it over again, what place would I pick as my reception....I love this place - the Ivy Room at Tree Studios. So gorgeous.

That is beautiful! And I know what you mean...SO many of my friends & family just don't get it.
I hate it when people tell others that are getting married that it's possible to have a wedding with 150people, food, decor, vendors, the whole shabang in Chicago on a $3000budget.
Sure, you can get married on $3000 budget - of course, but not if you want the big huge wedding and all the crazy stuff that goes into it, you know?
I try telling people, but they don't get it until their wedding is over with and they're majorly in debt. I SO wish others would be realistic when telling a bride & groom how much weddings cost these days...you know?
I wish couples realized you can STILL have a beautiful wedding on a tight budget, by having a smaller wedding...but so many couples have a hard time cutting the guest list.
