Stamp Issues

The invitations project - done! Check it off the list. We ended up printing out everything yesterday and then had them cut professionally (worth every penny!)

So here is the vent. I loved the idea of having RSVP postcards - from the beginning that was a must for my invitations. However, I have come to realize after visiting two local post offices and the U.S. Post Office website that there is no variety for postcard stamps. The only one is this lovely Florida Panther. Are you kidding me? So I need to make a decision on vintage stamps or making my own stamps (which would cost a little bit). My fiance thought I was crazy making such a fuss over a stamp. But seriously - a panther? That is it?!!

Ok....several things - I am tired of wedding planning. There I said it. It might be the snow, the cold weather or something, but I have hit a wall with making decisions. I hope I get my wedding love back...and soon.

Something that might get me out of this funk - this website. Thank you to Jaime for this wonderful website. She created it for her sister's upcoming wedding and seriously - these are my colors. I have gotten so much inspiration from this site! Thank you!

Invitations Project

I am not a designer, but decided because I was not finding the invitation I wanted - I was going to do my own invitations. Yikes...again I am not a designer. But I felt like - I could do this. If I was going to do something it was definitely going to be more of the "envelopment" invitation. I love them because to me they seem like a cool neat packet for your guests and they can keep all of the information in one place. I thought this would be key considering most of our guests will be coming from out of town. So I found the above invitation as inspiration and then headed to Paper Source. After a couple test runs, I ended up going to a friend and asking for some help in the design of it - I know my limits! So here is the first test run.

We will be using diagonal folders - I actually hedged on using this folder, but actually now like how it is coming together. I need to go back and get the paper we will be using because this was just printed on what we had at the time.

Here is the front of the RSVP card with a logo I had created from this lovely designer . I went with the postcard, thinking this would save a little bit of money...

We still need to work on a couple things, like what is going to be on the front of the folder but I think it is coming together.

Save the Date

Not that I am all about myself - but it is always fun to go to a friend's house and see our Save the Date magnet on their fridge! I fretted over our Save the Date for weeks trying to find the right one. I contemplated doing just a cool postcard, but I then decided on this one from Magnet Street. We love to laugh and of course laugh at ourselves - so what perfect magnet for us! Here is what our magnet looked like (of course I took off our names and website). All they needed were really good photos of us so they could cut out our heads and tada - here was our magnet. Magnet Street was really good to work with and so fast - I would recommend them to anyone.

I love Chicago...I really do!

Where I wish I was right now...

I am so happy I am getting married, but the other day I did envy a couple of my single friends. They ended up just on a whim deciding to go to Cancun and left yesterday. I know we will have our honeymoon, but I so want a vacation right now. Especially this morning when I woke up to not just one flat tire but two. Spent the majority of the morning, getting the tires fixed and then treked all the way out to the suburbs to find out that my office was closing because of the winter storm. Then spent another two hours treking back home.

I heart Etsy

I love Etsy and I love them even more after coming across this designer - DLK Designs. How adorable are these? These are Vintage Dictionary Word Pendants circa 1950's or earlier. I actually just bought the Live and Laugh ones from the 1920s. These would be perfect for my bridesmaids gifts or for all the birthday presents I need to get! But I might even keep them for myself...

She even does vintage maps - here is Chitown, but I think love the Paris one and London even more!

Photo Guest Book

I would love to do the Photo Booth at our wedding, but unfortunately, I don't think it works in our budget. Instead, I love this idea - the Photo Guest Book from Adesso Albums. You can buy the whole set for $139.95 which includes the album, polaroid camera and film. However, I am trying to look on ebay and see if I can get the polaroid camera for less. And actually found them for a way better price, so I would only need to buy the album then. I just know our friends would get a big kick out of taking photos and leaving messages.
